CBD

How is broad spectrum oil different than full spectrum? What about CBD isolate?

Broad spectrum oils are different, because they have specific components removed from the raw oil, most notably THC. Other plant components, like cannabinoids, terpenes, and plant pigments, can also be selectively removed to achieve desired characteristics such as potencies, flavors, and consistencies. Full spectrum oils do not have any of these specific components removed from the raw oil. CBD isolates solely contain CBD, so they do not contain the other cannibinoids that create a beneficial 'entourage effect' like broad and full spectrum oils.

What is the difference between hemp and marijuana?

Hemp and marijuana belong to the same genus of flowering plants, known as Cannabis, but they have different cannabinoid profiles. Hemp contains less than 0.3% THC, while marijuana contains about 20% THC on average. Hemp typically has much higher CBD content compared to marijuana. All of our products are hemp-derived.

What are cannabinoids? What about endocannabinoids and phytocannabinoids?

Cannabinoids are naturally-occurring chemical constituents that interact with our body's endocannabinoid system. Endocannabinoids refer to the cannabinoids naturally produced in the body, such as anandamide. Phytocannabinoids are cannabinoids naturally found in plants, such as CBD and THC in the cannabis plant.

What are terpenes? What is beta caryophyllene?

Terpenes are naturally occurring compounds found in many plants, and each terpene has a unique color, flavor and odor. In our CBD Oil Tinctures and CBD Softgels, we add a terpene called beta caryophyllene, which is an abundant terpene in cannabis that acts similar to a cannabinoid. Beta caryophyllene binds to and activates CB2 receptors that play an important role in pain and inflammation reduction.

What is CBD?

CBD or Cannabidiol is a phytocannabinoid found naturally in the cannabis plant. CBD binds to and blocks the body's cannabinoid receptors and increases anandamide, which is associated with positive health effects.

What are cannabinoid receptors?

Cannabanoid receptors are sites within our body's endocannabinoid system where cannabinoids bind in order to activate their benefits. There are two types of cannabinoid receptors: CB1 and CB2. CB1 receptors are found in the brain and central nervous system and are associated with mood, anxiety, temperature regulation, and sleep. CB2 receptors are found in immune cells and are associated with inflammation and pain.

What is anandamide?

Anandamide is an endocannabinoid known as 'the bliss molecule' due to its positive effects. Increased levels of anandamide leads to less anxiety and fearfulness, pain relief and inflammation reduction, sleep promotion, elevation in mood and happiness, and temperature regulation.

What is THC?

THC or Tetrahydrocannabinol is a phytocannabinoid found naturally in the cannabis plant. THC is the cannabinoid that produces the psychoactive effects associated with a 'high' feeling. All of our products are THC-free, with third-party lab tests to prove it.

How long until I feel the effects of CBD? How long will the effects last?

You will start feeling the effects of CBD tinctures and topicals 15-30 minutes after dosage, and these effects generally last for 4-6 hours. CBD softgels are orally ingested, so the CBD first passes through the digestive system and liver. Accordingly, it can take up to an hour to feel the effects of CBD softgels, and these effects generally last for 6-8 hours.

I don't feel immediate results, is CBD not working for me?

Although many experience more immediate results, CBD affects people differently due to each individual's unique endocannabinoid system. Variation in cell composition and number of cannabinoid receptors are possible explanations for the range of experiences with CBD. It is important to maintain your CBD routine for an extended period of time in order to give your body time to adjust and to determine how CBD works for your specific needs.

What is CBN?

Cannabinol (CBN) is a naturally-occuring compound from the hemp plant that is similar to CBD, but it's more specifically associated with sleep promotion.

Our Products

How are these products premium?

All of our products are sourced from proprietary strains of the highest grade, phytocannabinoid-rich (PCR) hemp grown in the United States without herbicides or pesticides. The dried, ground hemp is refined in a cGMP-compliant facility in Colorado, using clean and effective supercriticial CO2 extraction to safely preserve all vital hemp components in an oil. Our purification process further removes any trace of THC and other undesirable plant components, such as wax and plant pigments. Each product contains this premium oil combined with an organic carrier oil, either MCT oil or extra-virgin olive oil, and other organic ingredients, like essential oils and beeswax. All of our products are subjected to multiple third-party lab tests to ensure the accuracy of the dosage and the cleanliness of the ingredients. Our CBD Softgels also feature industry-leading efficacy. Nanoemulsion technology transforms the raw hemp oil into water-soluble droplets up to 40 times smaller than competitors'. These smaller droplets mean that our CBD Softgels are 2X more absorbable than oil-based products.

Are any products gluten-free? Vegan? Non-GMO?

All of our products are gluten-free and non-GMO. Our CBD Oil Tinctures, CBD Topical Relief, CBD Cream, and CBD Bath Bombs are all also vegan.

What lab tests are performed? Where can I find the lab results?

Third-party laboratories test our products for physical attributes, cannabinoid potencies, terpene potencies, heavy metals (arsenic, lead, mercury, cadmium), pesticides (60 total), residual solvents, and microbial activity (E. coli, yeast, molds). View the lab results for each product here.

How are the CBD Softgels more effective?

Our CBD Softgels are produced by a nanoemulsion process that transforms the oil into small, water-soluble droplets up to 40X smaller than competitors'. These smaller droplets allow for easier and more effective absorption. As the most bioavailable broad spectrum formula, our CBD Softgels are 2X as absorbable as oil-based products.

How are these products unique?

All of our products begin with phytocannabinoid-rich extract that is derived from proprietary strains of hemp. This hemp contains desired cannabinoid and terpene profiles that are unique. We add beta caryophyllene, a naturally occurring terpene in cannabis, to our CBD Softgels. This terpene is an FDA-approved food additive that acts similar to a cannabinoid and plays an important role in pain and inflammation reduction. The nanoemulsion process gives our CBD Softgels industry-leading bioavailability by transforming the oil into small particles that are up to 40X smaller than competitors'. Smaller sized particles allow for easier absorption, and our CBD Softgels are up to 2X more absorbable than oil-based products.

How often can I use a CBD Bath Bomb?

We recommend using 1 CBD Bath Bomb per bath, but you can use our CBD Bath Bombs as often as needed.

Do these products contain THC?

No. Our products are sourced from PCR hemp that, by definition, contains less than 0.3% THC, and any trace of THC is removed during our purification process. Other cannabinoids are preserved in our products to promote a beneficial "entourage effect".

How much melatonin is in the CBD Softgels w/ Melatonin?

Each of our softgels is made with a more effective, water-soluble formula of hemp extract and other ingredients. Our CBD Softgels w/ Melatonin contain 1 mg of water-soluble melatonin. If you are already taking a melatonin supplement, we recommend using our everyday formula CBD Softgels instead.

How much curcumin is in the CBD Softgels w/ Curcumin?

Each of our softgels is made with a more effective, water-soluble formula of hemp extract and other ingredients. Our CBD Softgels w/ Curcumin contain 10 mg of water-soluble curcumin. If you are already taking a curcumin supplement, we recommend using our everyday formula CBD Softgels instead.
